give me an october day
like anne of green gables
i am grateful to live in
a world where there are
octobers,
a pleasant space for
coziness and comfort;
beautiful trees,
and songs of golden
sunlight dancing through the
painted leaves
of trees—
no sweat upon sweat,
unbearable heat;
just a soft whisper of cool relief—
you could paint me in a world
only containing octobers,
and i would never grow weary
of the scent or the beauty
etched in the skies and earth;
give me an october day.
