“Believe in your heart that you’re meant to live a life full of passion, purpose, magic and miracles.” ~ Roy Bennett
When you were a child, the thought of magic was never far off. From the movies you watched to the books you read, to the stories of Santa and the fairy tales you believed in, magic was a part of your life.
Magic permeated in everything I did. My fertile childhood imagination allowed me to believe that fairies, the enchanted wood, the flying chair, talking cats, Harry Potter, and Narnia, all really existed, and I hoped to be a part of that magical world. I stole out at night hoping to find fairies in my garden. I actually thought that my toys came alive at night and played and talked. I even tried flying on a broom!!
As I grew older and the world of reality started seeping its way into my consciousness, my imagined world that had seemed so real, slowly began to ebb away. Now, there were no pretty fairies, no wizards, no dragons and brave knights or no loyal Narnians.
In time, those wonderful magical memories began to fade away as I allowed myself to be overcome by the daily grind of a mundane world and the many trials and tribulations of adult life. However, I never stopped believing that there is always hope and magic in the world if you simply know where to look for it.
Magic is all around us. Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? Look around you…there is magic everywhere. It lies in the serenity of the moonlight and the brilliance of the sunshine. You can find it in the depth of the oceans or the dizzy heights of the mountains. Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live. Even today, all it takes is a walk down memory lane to make you believe in magic.
Magic isn’t a far-fetched reality; it’s a change of heart. It’s okay to live like you’ve never lived before, to see in new ways and change your approach—you might find magic there. You know what the problem is with the world? Everyone wants a magical solution to their problem, and everyone refuses to believe in magic.
“Where there is kindness, there is goodness and where there is goodness, there is magic.” I believe that. I believe in magic. I want to be the one to transform the world. I want to touch the heart of the world and make it smile. I want to be a friend of the elves and live in a tree. I want to take a ride on a moonbeam and hear the stars sing. I want to sprinkle a little fairy dust in someone’s life today and give them joy.
They say, magic happens when you do not give up. I will never give up.
