Jerome Berglund: Poetry

zen nihilism

abbey yew
even in the dream
am alone

bone spur
we don’t break
like horses

shovel browning
the pool has gotten
smaller

granulated sugar . . .
who will save
the pictures?

this is a sad story
he thought
and awoke

whoppers springtime

bird of prey
overhead gliding
red-berried moonseed

the moss
drifts from tree to tree
scarlet bottlebrush

flood stage
an alligator
acting smug

cremation
of care
funeral home

lady in waiting
the beetle spreads
its wings

in short

wisdom tooth
hanging gardens
of babylon

long lie
a few weak spasms
from the peace flag

purim
pulling the
starter cord

with
child
holding

abridged biography:
writes utopia
gets beheaded

indian giving
reverse victim
and offender

golden ratio
can comment if certainly
won’t share, don’t like

right
of asylum
mother pool

cock crows
embracing the popular
vernacular

join our voice
with the youngsters’
know the song
